Fluplands.com was developed as a final project for the UF/IFAS Florida Master Naturalist Program – Upland Systems module during the Winter 2024. It is intended as a study or field guide to students and accompanies the FMNP – Uplands Systems of Florida manual, written by Dr. Martin Main, Associate Dean and Program Leader of the Dept of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation at the University of Florida/IFAS, Gainesville, FL. The content of Fluplands.com relies heavily on material from Dr. Main’s manual but also incorporates other internet resources pertinent to Florida’s upland habitat.
We wish to express appreciation to our class instructors, Kalan Taylor, Volusia County Extension Director and Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent of the UF/IFAS Extension for Volusia County, and David Griffis, Adjunct Professor of Environmental Sciences and Geography, at Stetson University.
Finally, we wish to extend special appreciation to John Muehleisen, who paid a serendipitous visit to the authors while they were working on this project and lent his expertise in web design to the format and appearance of this project.
